Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 2 lb sweet potatoes peeled or unpeeled, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper to taste
Sweet and Spicy Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat
Savory Herb Seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp ground cumin

Method

  1. Step 1: Wash and optionally peel the sweet potatoes. Cut into uniform 1-inch cubes for even cooking.
  2. Step 2: Place the cubes in a colander and rinse under cold running water for 30 seconds. Lay them on a towel and pat completely dry.
  3. Step 3: Transfer cubes to a bowl, drizzle with oil, and toss. Add your chosen seasoning blend and mix well to coat all pieces.
  4. Step 4: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange potatoes in a single layer in the basket. Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5–6 minutes until crispy and fork-tender.

Notes

Peeling is optional—scrub well if you leave the skin. Smaller cubes cook faster and crisp better. Avoid overcrowding the basket and shake regularly for even cooking. Try garlic- or chili-infused oil for a flavor twist.
